With the conservation aspect in mind, this is a harmless and suitable adhesive for file preparation (treatment), mounting of objects and other applications

Since the year 2004, the technical archives service of the Federal Commissioner for the State Security Service Documents (BStU) in Berlin, have been using tubes filled with tylose MH 300 adhesive. The archival products of the authorities were not only standardized DIN A4 sheets, but also very many small notes fastened with staples. In the course of the preparation of these files all metal parts were removed from the documents and the loose notes were re-stuck (bonded) by punctual sticking to their original documents.

From the conservation point-of view, tylose MH 300 (methyl hydroxy ethyl cellulose), a cellulose derivative, is a totally harmless and reversible adhesive. This bio polymer is usually utilized in the field of paper restoration. It is physiologically harmless and water soluble. Micro-organisms can affect this adhesive with great difficultly.

Tylose MH 300 is stirred (mixed) in germ-free (sterile) water. After swelling, it can be filled into tubes and sealed hermetically.

KLUG-CONSERVATION offers tylose MH 300, prepared ready for use, in tubes with 40 ml contents and with a fine dispensing nozzle.

The adhesive should always be squeezed out from the tube end.
Pay attention to economical dosage - The fine cannula (dispensing nozzle) enables you to apply the adhesive prurposefully.
The adhesive force of tylose sets in only after it starts drying.
If the cannula is dried up, then it can be put into water and cleaned after having been soaked.
After the tube has been opened, the adhesive should be used within a year.

Apart from the file preparation, the adhesive can also be used for other applications. A substantial component of the conservational picture framing is the mounting of the objects by means of (Japanese) paper slips on the backboard. Complex manufacturing of starch paste can be void (eliminated) in the near future. This available ready-for-use adhesive is extremely suitable for these kinds of applications.
