Klug - Info No. 38

08.05.2013

Dear Sir or Madam,

the aim of passive preservation is the prevention of deterioration and damage of cultural heritage by decelerating harmful influences. The primary goal of preventive preservation induced by using KLUG products is to maintain the status quo of the object at the time of treatment. The deep-frozen strawberry symbolically represents the actual state of the object. We are committed to preserve the original status and will not suggest any kind of intervention that might consequently lead to the loss of the original condition.

We hope you enjoy reading the following inspiring articles concerning preventive preservation.

Klug - Info No. 29

02.04.2009

Dear Sir or Madam,

Since our last correspondence spring has passed and the summer has set in. Despite the financial and economic crisis worldwide, we have done our best to counteract these thought processes and have developed new, useful and economical products for our customers.

The preservation and storage of cultural heritage has been our company’s philosophy and main objective for decades. Two of the most important causes of damage to original documents are the storage and transport conditions. Unprotected archive objects such as books, maps, textiles, coins, etc. are constantly exposed to environmental influences such as humidity, dust and other air pollutants. Whether these objects are removed from the shelf or returned - this will always lead to some damage being caused, and during transport even more so. Suitable packaging keeps moisture and dust at bay and provides protection during movement and transport. However, damage arising from unprotected storage conditions or due transport in unsuitable packaging can be avoided with very little effort and at a fairly low cost. Please do not hesitate to inquire for your respective protective packaging. For more information: www.klug-conservation.com
